Veteran Swallowtail

If you take the time to observe the natural world, you realize it is a dangerous place. The wings of this swallowtail butterfly reveal just how dangerous. Although still able to fly and feed, this butterfly's missing wing portions suggest it has had a few close calls with hungry birds.
